Great Plains Art & Music Festival Gears Up for Second Annual Spectacle

The Great Plains Art & Music Festival is back for its highly anticipated second edition, and this year promises even more excitement, talent, and community engagement. The festival went live with robust marketing and advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram, drawing enthusiastic responses from artists, vendors, and food trucks alike. With the event set to take place on Saturday, September 30, 2023, in Lawrence, KS. at Sesquicentennial Point Park, overlooking the picturesque Clinton Lake and three valleys, the preparations are in full swing.

The response from the artistic community has been overwhelming, with 12 artist and food vendors already signed up within the first week and more joining every day. The festival's eclectic lineup showcases not only amazing bands but also a diverse range of performances, including theater, dance, poetry, acrobats, and more. We're proud to support these talented individuals, most performing without reimbursement, and to that end, we've launched a new nonprofit dedicated to funding the free portion of the event.

The Lawrence Emerging Arts Project, founded by the festival's passionate organizer, aims to help artists and arts groups with their social media marketing, create access to free arts events, and we intend to build an outdoor performance stage, such as an amphitheater, or acquire a portable transforming stage for community use. Your generous donations to the Great Plains Emerging Arts Project will make this dream a reality and support artists and artistic groups alike. Donate at greatplainsfest.com

As we progress toward the event, we urge artists, vendors, and food trucks to seize this fantastic opportunity to showcase their talents and products to a vibrant and appreciative audience. With nearly 13 vendors already on board and five weeks remaining for sign-ups, we encourage more artists, those who create original handmade items, and food vendors to secure their booth spaces.

For festival-goers seeking an elevated experience, VIP tickets are available, offering exclusive perks such as a complimentary festival t-shirt, access to the VIP tent and tables, mingling opportunities with performers at the backstage and DJ booth, and reserved lawn seating with a folding chair. VIP tickets are priced at $60 in advance and $70 on the day of the show.

Mark your calendars and join us at Sesquicentennial Point Park on September 30, 2023, in Lawrence, KS. for an unforgettable day of art, music, and community. By attending the Great Plains Art & Music Festival and supporting our nonprofit's mission, you contribute to the growth of local arts and artists, ensuring a vibrant and flourishing creative scene for years to come. Together, let's make this year's festival an extraordinary celebration of culture and artistic expression. See you there! Find more at greatplainsfest.com
